What's new in OroMailCenter 2
- A new technology is now used to send and receive e-mails. This allows to better encode/decode e-mails.
- E-mails encoded with some advanced formats such as unicode or UTF-8 are now managed and supported.
- It is now possible to connect to POP3 and SMTP servers in secure mode (SSL).
- It is now possible to develop your own plpug-ins for OroMailCenter 2. For example, you could have a button into OroMailCenter that allows you to display the customer record that is located in another software, system or another database.
- The new version 2 is more "client oriented". For example, it is easier to access the customer record directly from an e-mail. It is also easier to associate a request to a customer when OroMailCenter was not able to match the e-mail sender address to a customer.
- Contacts can now be added to each customer.
- Customers and contacts can now be imported and exported.
- Complete history of e-mails and requests of a customer can now be displayed on screen with a simple mouse click.
- When you associate a customer to a request, if you want, OroMailCenter can automatically add the e-mail address and/or the domain name of the e-mail sender in the customer record. So, later, if the same customer communicate with you again, OroMailCenter will be able to automatically associate the new request to the customer.
- When you are answering to a request and that OroMailCenter was not able to associate any customer to this request because the e-mail address (or domain name) of the sender was not found into OroMailCenter, if you want, OroMailCenter can automatically create a customer using sender information of the e-mail. So, later, if the same customer communicate with you again, OroMailCenter will be able to automatically associate the new request to the customer.
- A filter and a detailed search were added in the Customers module.
- Customer categories were added.
- The search option is now a lot more faster and precise. All words or each e-mail are now indexed.
- Internal notes can now be added to each e-mail. This is specifically useful when another agent must answer to a new e-mail of a request originally answered by another agent.
- When composing an e-mail, you can now request a read receipt.
- A useful e-mail address list can be created per message center.
- New stat reports were added.
- The user interface was improved and is now easier to use.
- When composing an e-mail, the e-mail can be saved (in the Draft folder) then continued lated.
- An option to backup the entire database is now available directly from OroMailCenter.
- A new database utility (backup, restore, other) is now included with OroMailCenter. This utility is more user friendly that the GBAK utility of the Firebird database.
- An data transfer utility is included to allow you to transfer your data from OroMailCenter 1 to OroMailCenter 2 with a simple mouse click.
- Lisenses can now be bought individually instead of buying a kit of five licenses the first time.
- You can now rent licenses instead of buying it. This is particularly useful for organizations that must manage an annual budget for user licenses in their organization.
- Several other minor improvements are also included in the new version 2.
