| #FAQ: 10065-EN, Date: 3/22/2004 When I use OroTimesheet 4, sometimes, it can be very slow |
| The information in this article applies to : OroTimesheet 4.x (English) OroTimesheet 4.x (French) Description A new technology called Hyper-Threading is available since a few months with some types of processors such as Intel Pentium 4 processors. This technology allows to increase performances of some applications.
OroTimesheet 4 is compatible with this technology. However, OroTimesheet 4 uses the database engine Interbase 6 (Open Source version) which is not compatible with Hyper-Threading technology. So, when Interbase (Interbase server only) is installed on a computer with Hyper-Threading enabled, in some cases, performances of Interbase can be decreased. There is no problem on the client side, when only OroTimesheet 4 and the client part of Interbase is installed. Solution If you experience performance problems when accessing an Interbase server, to correct it, disable the option Hyper-Threading in the system bios of the computer, where Interbase server is installed.
